For Immediate Release
Date: February 18, 2015
Savannah homeowners can learn how they can take advantage of reduced-price solar installation during an information session at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Savannah Civic Center. The City of Savannah has signed on to the Solarize Tybee program, which is open to all Chatham County home and business owners. At the event, citizens can sign up for a free home assessment and ask questions about how the program works.
Solarize Tybee aims to bring solar power to Chatham County by eliminating some of the complexity of selecting a qualified installer and by driving down costs through the power of bulk purchasing. Solar photovoltaic systems (PV) provide a clean energy alternative that saves money on energy bills and promotes a healthy environment. Residents may be eligible for an additional 30% savings over and above the Solarize discount through the federal renewable energy tax credit available for a limited time.
