Savannah Fire quickly extinguishes Wild Turkey Rd. blaze; six residents displaced

SAVANNAH, GA (Tuesday, October 2, 2018) – At 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, Savannah
Fire was dispatched to a house fire at 602 Wild Turkey Rd. The residents wereasleep inside when a friend alerted them to the smoke and flames. The family
of six escaped unharmed. However, their pets remained inside. Savannah Firearrived on scene within three minutes at 10:38 p.m. A converted garage was
fully engulfed in flames. A crew worked to locate the family’s three dogs andthree cats inside the burning home while the others worked to quickly
extinguish the blaze. Firefighters found three dogs and two of the cats.Efforts were made to revive the pets, but only one cat survived. Power to the
home was cut and the six residents were displaced.
