Savannah Fire Responds to Report of Construction Worker Trapped by Power Line

SAVANNAH,
GA (Thursday, September 27, 2018) – Savannah Fire was dispatched to a hotelconstruction site on River Street at MLK Boulevard at 3:21 p.m. Thursday,
September 27. A construction worker in an excavator hit a power line, which fellacross the vehicle; trapping him inside. Savannah Fire arrived on scene within
one minute, at 3:22 p.m. They secured the scene, called Georgia Power and stoodby until power to the line was cut. Once
Georgia Power crews ensured that power to the line was cut the constructionworker was able to get out of the excavator on his own. No one was injured.
