Savannah Fire saves one of their own while fighting a fire
SAVANNAH (Jan. 17) – Sunday evening, at approximately 4:30 a.m., the Savannah Fire Department (SFD) responded to a reported structure fire at the 2200 block of Mosley St. Two SFD firefighters were transported to the hospital after suffering non-life-threatening burns because of the fire.
SFD arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a vacant one-story building. During their fast attack, the building partially collapsed entrapping one firefighter inside the structure. As a result of great training, SFD personnel were able to safely rescue one of their own, put out the fire and prevent its spread.
